Bridal tips for the big day

Getting married is one of the biggest days of your life so you need to make sure that it is perfect and all goes smoothly.
With this in mind, we have put together our few top tips for the bride to help you along the way.
- If you are having your hair styled on the morning of your wedding wear a shirt. Many brides wear a t-shirt, then struggle to get it over their newly styled barnett. Wearing a shirt will allow you to unbutton it and not damage your hair do.
- If your dress goes over your head then get a pillow case or a silk underskirt to put over your head first. This will allow the dress to slide on more easily without damaging your hair and getting make-up on it.
- Remove all labels on the underside of shoes. It is a fiddly job so do it well in advance of the wedding day.
- If your dress is lace and buttons make sure you contact a friend to come and help you get it on. A family member or a bridesmaid will be there to help with wedding preparations but will have false nails on for the occasion and it may get a little fiddly.
- Make sure that the bride is dressed first. Many people rush to dress the bride last but if plans start to run behind then it will be the bride who is in a rush to get dressed. If you dress the bride first she can get ready at her own pace, feel relaxed and make any adjustments to the dress. It isn’t the brides job to dress bridesmaids or children so make sure plenty of people are around to help out.
